what are some good drills or things to practice getting backspin when hitting the ball...back spin helps the ball travel,

Just for the record (and don't ask me any other questions because it is unproductive), you should not be seeking BACKSPIN. What you want is TOPSPIN. Backspin puts the ball in the AIR, which, unless you are lucky equates to FLY BALL OUT. TOPSPIN puts the ball on the GROUND. GROUNDERS equate to singles doubles and triples for the very fast runner. If you don't run fast you have no business being in the game, SPEED is the tool scouts look at the most, because Little League home runs do not mean diddly squat if you strike out half the time. You need not be concerned about pleasing scouts, because if you are one of the 1 in 90 million gifted enough to play at a higher level, believe me, they will find you, you don't need to find them.Again, grounders = run production, fly balls = OUTS. Outs do NOT contribute to run production. I do not question the motives of most of you. Kids asking questions honestly believe that a few cookie cutter answers here and there will make them future stars. You are so sadly mistaken. And the people who answer these questions, I don't question your motives either. I know you want to help, but YOU ARE NOT HELPING. You are part of the problem, noy part of the solution.

Thanks for proving your lack of knowledge. Now the rest of us know to ignore your comments.

One last thing to think about while you leave for the other sites.......Why do pitchers attempt to keep the ball down?
