Hey,

You just have to decide that hanging out on the weekend or spending time playing video games is no longer acceptable. If you're serious about the game then you'll be serious about your schoolwork too. I would devote 2 hrs a day in the offseason to working out (3/4 days a week) and getting swings on the other days. There is plenty of time left for school/church and family...you just have to want it.

My grades suffered and my parents have told me if this repeats itself then there won't be any baseball for me come spring. My question is how many hours a day should a player dedicate themselves to work in the off season even though there is the concern of school. How can one become a better player when there is basically just not enough time to get everything done that needs to be. So how should I consider balancing my hours so everything I need to do can be completed?
If your in H.S. it is harder since you go to school all day til 3pm and then have home work 2 hrs at least often or more.My thought is you go right after school and workout when you want to work off stress of being in school all day, then go home and eat and do home work, take a little break do chores if you have them and finish up your work.Often before a test it is wise to get up early and study45 min that morning on test material and it well stick with you for the test better.
In college I went to school til about 11-30 came and ate at the training table knocked out 1/2 my homework and spent about 2.5 hours working out.then back to eat studied for an hour and a half then went and swam laps and hit a speed bag [boxing ].Came back and if I needed studied til midnight.I was keeping only 2 goals in mind, baseball and a business degree.Weekends always gave me time to catch up if I needed for the up coming week.Remember when your lifting to spend alot of time stretching to keep your flexibility and it well help you recover faster.Take care of your body if you want it to serve you well, proper diet, rest and efficient hard work.
