hitting right?

Posted by: Westley (Westley_w@excite.com) on Thu Nov 6 17:40:29 2003

Hi, I was wondering if my swing understanding is right since I don't have a camera, I can't have Jack tell me if it's right or wrong.

Is this right?
-start in an athletic stance with elbow up and hands close to the back shoulder
-when the pitch is released move your shoulder in and your front leg out
-land on a flexed knee
-pivot the front leg to face the second baseman (right handed hitter) and straighten it out
-While doing that keep front arm as straight as possible across the chest
-turn hips first, then move the back elbow to the side with forearm parallel with the ground.
-don't move your arms but twist at the hips

Also I can't get a heavy bag, so is there any other drills that I can do without messing up the mechanics of my swing??

Is there any tips for switch hitting?

Sorry for all the questions,

Thanks in advance

Westley
