I think that elbow bone can stay up(internal rotation of lead arm) and I think that very little motion of the ball in the shoulder socket happens,BUT the whole shoulder socket can move to hook the hand path or the elbow can bend more to hook the handpath,or the elbow can straighten without losing conection(shoulder socket not moved,front scap firm.front bicep squeezed against torso) allowing the hands to go out near contact for the outside pitch.
