The one where I take my head to the ball is done by lowering my legs thus lessening the jack knife look you see in the other two swings. My weight is more evenly distributed from beginning to end, just by squatting more with my legs. The feel is that my front leg must keep it's bend as long as possible. The other two swings have me hitting more upright, so I cast my weight forward or sway as the arms come through. My son on the other hand, I see as less handsy, thus he rotates his torso much better than I. He never has jack-knifed in the swing. I really don't have a motivation other than to say that if one is more hand dominate (myself) lowering the head/legs will promote a better swing plan (flatter) and better shoulder turn through loose hips, but if someone swings like my Son, then lowering the legs probably would not be a good cue.

I'm just showing how two swings can be fairly good (not perfect), but entirely different at the same time. Which goes to a point I've made many times.......lot's of people do things differently, certainly some are more effecient. I think when my Son grows up, his swing will be more energy efficent then mine ever was, but that'll be up to him.

Thanks,

Coach C
