Re: Where to Hit Inside Pitch

For the most part you simply react to the inside pitch. As such, the key is to hit through the ball (middle). You should not have to force anything in hitting the inside pitch. Don't overswing in trying to pull the ball. Overswinging will cause you to hit the ball foul, top the ball weakly, or pop it up because you loaded up too much in trying to swing too hard. Your natural swing should take over. Odds are that if you relax and take an easy cut you will have success more often than not. And always finish your swing in hitting the inside pitch as even if in a slump you will get some lucky hits if you take a complete swing. Louis Gonzalez is famous for getting a cheap hit on an inside pitch merely because he finished his swing which resulted in a bloop single to win the World Series.
