I find it difficult to believe that your nine year old son could totally change his style of hitting in one night and find instantaneous success. Sounds to me like it is more of a mental thing than anything else. Trying something new with mechanics always gives a player a new sense of confidence at first.

I saw firsthand the results, and I suppose that since I was the one who saw him (besides his coach ,teammates and other parents) I would be in the best position to evaluate his performance. I suspect that you may be new to this. Take my word for it, rotation is the way to go!

I think his out (a pop up) was due to him going linear and not using top hand torque.I offered my help to the coach but he laughed at the idea of me getting help for my son off the internet.as the season goes by though and he sees my son's progression I have a feeling he will have a change of heart.

Almost every idea in the world is available somewhere on the internet-both good and bad. It's sorting them out that takes the work. Always compare anything anyone tells you to slow motion clips of the game swings of the best hitters in the world. And those are darn sure available on the net. Chances are, you have another youth coach who has not done his due diligence research before he started "teaching" kids baseball.
