For me it's like this. Eventually all of the energy/torque passes through the hands/handle and it is at this point that I want to explode with both hands through the ball to create additional lag, delaying the release of the barrel even further. In addition to that I feel it provides an added resistance to the hit at impact (recoil effect). Fast hands through the ball is another way of saying delayed release for me. Delaying the release of the barrel lets the ball get deeper to me. For me to hit the inside pitch I pull my arms the torso at through impact I try to expolde with my hands through the ball. My hands are always fast through the ball. It's just my thought, but telling one to get the barrel out maybe one of the worst things ever preached in hitting. Fighting to keep the barrel back through rotation, and delaying it's release even further with the hands is the power for me. On a side note....I think lead arm extension can be a great thing if done properly. To me lead arm extension is delaying the release even further.....MORE POWER, but less resistance to the hit. Ben Hogan said.....Three right hands and had a tremendous delayed release....maybe the best ever.

Does that make sense Tom?

I'm confusing a lot of people....especially Mark H. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)

See ya,

Coach C
