Coach C,

I am always up for increasing our knowledge, and thereby Kevin's performance.

The only concern I'd have w/ such an experiment right now is that we're going to Mike's clinic in a few weeks and I wouldn't really wanna be coming at Kevin from too many different camps all at once.

My plans over the next 3 weeks before the clinic were to start him on Epstein's Torque Drill and maybe get to the Numbers Drill too. We didn't want to do this during his fall season.

One solution would be proceed as planned w/ that approach. Another would be to use the next couple weeks trying what you mentioned prior to visiting Mike. Hmmmmm...

BTW, did you get a chance to view the game video clips I posted too? I really don't think his feet/hips, etc. are anywhere near as overactive as they are when doing drills.

FWIW Coach, I agree w/ your assessment of less than full force hip movement of MLB'ers. I'm always pointing out to Kevin how Manny doesn't appear to be going so hard w/ his body, and how relaxed he appears. I also remember from last year, when I posted a thread on eteamz comparing Kevin to a 28-yr old friend of mine (Ray), that Ray's hips (and his back foot) were not racing so far ahead of his hands. So I'm definitely intrigued by your thoughts on how to bring the hips more in sync w/ the hands.

Thanks,
Sandman
