Re: batspeed through contact

i was looking at another site discussing power. ray demarini was talking about him hitting compared to his friend. he had analyzed both of their batspeeds. both had similar swings and their batspeeds were both 95 mph. however his friend hit the ball considerably further. he found out that his batspeed after contact slowed down to 56 mph. his friend was able to keep his bat speed up to 89 after contact. what can be done to assure your batspeed stays high after contact

I think this is a sign of limited resolution of the batspeed measurement equipment.Assuming same batspeed and collision characteristics, the speed should not be different. However,in the experimental situation you definitely see this.I think it relates to suboptimal mechanics where the bat has decelerated before contact, but the measuring equipment isn't sensitve enough to show this.
