Pitching coaching in baseball has been a huge problem just like
hitting coaching in fastpitch(pitching coaching in fastpitch for the
most part is accessible and excellent,one reason balance is so
poor/stacked in favor of pitcher).That is why there are so many
foreign born players and position players who end up making it
as pitchers in the bigs.Overstructured/ill-informed
coaching(pause/circle up/nothing happens til footplant/rotate
late/slow down/down and out tend to be "killer" cues in a bad
way) has ruined the development of throwing ability of many a
young kid.Without developing throwing "ability" ,there is no
adequate foundation to build the skill of being a pitcher(getting
batters out) on top of.
