Hi Jimmy

I am not sure if I agree with your analogy with the power side of the body as I am assuming that you mean a RH person batting RH as this is very different then a RH person batting LH in your analogy. Overdoing any motion within the swing can cause an imbalance and eventually a resistance to the swing. The swing should flow like a wave and the easier it feels usually the more successful it will become. Anyone who over torques or overuses a body part during the swing will start to experience a great feeling of power but will start to have problems reacting to changes in pitches or timing.

I do say one thing though on this site I have rarely had encounters with Mr. Mankin and many of my posts go unanswered or uncommented on. I am not sure why but I do approach every learning experience by asking why and if the cannot answer why they may not know why. I need and my student need to know why they are doing something in order to understand it so eventually they can learn to correct it. If I told you to jump off a bridge you would call me crazy but if I told you why like a truck was going to hit and kill you then you would jump to save your life. Then when we are learning new techniques in hitting WHY should we listen if you cannot answer why am I doing it this way.
