I know someone with a loop in his swing. I would suggest that you first understand why the loop exists.
First, go to Jack's from page and watch the animated clip of the player hitting the low pitch for 500 feet. Notice how his back shoulder dips so that his swing gets on plane. Once his swing is on plane, it stays there.
I think what you may be doing is keeping your shoulders level and trying not to dip. Many people fight dipping their rear shoulder and in doing so, they must lower the hands to meet the ball. This creates a parabolic swing as the hands first lower to meet the ball then ascend during the follow through.
Try hitting some low balls off a tee and practice dipping your back shoulder to get on plane. The lowering of the back shoulder is needed to hit pitches around the waist and lower.
