Re: top hand rotation

1) For now, I am not worrying about top hand torque. I let my sons start with the bat on their shoulder, back elbow down, just as they always have. We will work THT into their swings after everything else looks good, which may be a while.

2) Driving hip rotation with the front leg has been a problem with my boys as well. They do fine hitting against a bag, or into a fence off a tee, but tend to breakdown when hitting a live pitch, or off a tee into a field. They seem to want to push their bodies forward with their rear leg, and arch their backs toward the pitcher. I imagine they will ultimately have to overcome seasons of contrary advice in this area, and realize that they can hit the ball further without these movements.
