The issue I have with that is when hitting the outside pitch, your belly button never fully faces the pitcher as it would on an inside pitch. I feel every swing is a little different depending on location and speed. It's hard to say you should look a certain way when every swing is a little different.

The legs/hip are whip handle and the shoulders/arm transfer the energy created. Or like Ted said it's like fly fishing, same principle.
