I agree with Teacherman in the sense that rotation should press he lead arm into the pect muscle as the body comes around the axis. If the hips are driving the action the shoulders are opening as planned but if the arms are pulling the lower body then the shoulders will be considered open even if they were in a similar position. The net difference is what muscle group is supplying the power.
