A lot of MLB hitters use "linear" cues. If you look at video it's not what what actually happens. They don't "think" about "rotation" because it would lead to just spinning in place. High-level MLB hitters think about "stretch and fire". In other words, clear the hips (to create separation) and commit with the hands (turn the barrel).

The only "shape" you need to think about is that of path of the bathead.

You don't need to use the same cues they do. Use what cues that works for you in order to duplicate the barrel path that the high-level hitters have.
