is stepping out always a bad thing, i mean is it bad even if u feel comfortable doing it and make solid contact?

No....stepping out is not always bad, as long as you're not transferring weight during that move. Magglio Ordonez, Roberto Clemente are just a few that have done this. Ironically, they hit the ball real well to the opposite field. Don't change what feels good to you and brings you success.
