I have been using the Hit Away training aid the last couple of weeks. Little League kids really have fun with it. Kids get a lot of swings in a just a few minutes. The product is well constructed and no signs yet of wear and tear. I recommend it for teaching hand eye cordination. Use in conjunction with the heavy bag for best results. For $29.95 IMHO it is money well spent.

It's not like a tee where the ball is still, but it does not simulate the actual motion of a pitched ball. I haven't ever used it, but I just wonder about the ball coming in a circular motion towards the batter.

The nice thing about the Hit away is you can use it indoors or out. It is portable and durable. It takes less than 30 seconds to set it up. All you need is a pole to attach to. It only requires one person to operate. You can easily teach the rotational method using the Hit Away. The tool is great for teaching timing and bat head control. You can have the best rotational swing but if you do not have good timing and bathead control how good will you be?

And that is exactly what I am questioning. I have never used the product, but with the ball comming towards the batter in a circular motion (as the string unwinds from the pole) does it really help timing. In a game, the ball will take a completely different path and I think that might affect the timing. I guess I won't really know until I try it (which may be never because I am not going to buy it).
