mikee mikee mikee ...
regardless of your name or the size of your paycheck, the same applies to all: bonds & sheffield are no different than any other MLB hitter. NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE, YOU STILL FAIL FAR MORE THAN YOU SUCCEED.. SO THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.specifically:
to not change is to not adapt... to not adapt is to go backward..
both you and jack refuse to recognize the reality that the stance has just as much to do with your success as the swing..
i believe that is a fatal error on both your parts.
THE ONLY READILY EVIDENT PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONE HITTER & THE NEXT IN MLB IS THE STANCE & THE SWING... THEY ARE BOTH PHYSICAL ASPECTS THAT AFFECT A HITTERS SUCCESS.TO IGNORE THE STANCE & CONCENTRATE ON THE SWING IS REALLY WRONG... i'm sorry.
you both also refuse to acknowledge that you must eliminate or reduce any post-pitch release motion that does not involve forward motion of the hands... the most common fatal error in my observation is the soft ball windup (buggywhipping) type swing... DROPPING THE HANDS, CIRCLE HITCHES, & DRAWING BACK THE ARMS&HANDS AFTER THE PITCH IS RELEASED... which invariably make most hitters late to far too many pitches they should be getting to.... that is where most hitters fail themselves... & that is wherethey can most easily improve by cutting those things out of their swing.. you guys think that stuff is ok, & you just flat out ignore the problems it creates... not good

happy new year mikee!
mikee mikee mikee...
FACT: THE VERY BEST HITTERS GET A HIT ONLY 1 TIME(that is o-n-e. hold up just your middle finger... now count how many fingers you are holding up. yeah... that many)COMPARED TO THE OTHER 5 TIMES(hold up all the digits on one hand...yeah, that many) THEY EITHER FLY OUT, POP UP, FOUL OFF, OR MISS COMPLETELY..
THAT IS A REAL AVERAGE OF .167 ON A PER SWING BASIS
as usual, your numbers are wrong... you just continue to throw out wrong information to fit your half baked ideas that do not hold any water whatsoever...
ANY DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU THAT MUSCLE TISSUE IS DIFFERENT FROM BRAIN
CELLS,... THEY ARE LIKE APPPLES & TURKEYS... NO COMMON ATTRIBUTES.
you blow off the entire medical world by saying it is just my opinion.. i got my opinion from the medical world..
to say "the stance has nothing to with hitting ok"... you're telling me it's dark out, but i look up and see the sun.[deleted by moderator]

happy new year & many more, gray!
[deleted by moderator] if you read what i said earlier in this thread, wherein i said exactly what you just wrote, though in a little more detail...(responding to mike's earlier thread)
"according to your logic, if you don't achieve the greatest & most accelerated success thru every level of competition you play, your muscle memory will never change, therefore you will never advance to the next level... so every player who stalls out at whatever level they are at, SHOULD JUST QUIT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GET ANY BETTER!?!?!? ACCORDINGLY, MIKE, FOLLOW YOUR OWN MORONIC LOGIC... GO HOME & SIT ON THE COUCH AND DRINK BEER FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, BECAUSE YOUR MUSCLE MEMORY IS NOT GOING TO IMPROVE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO GET TO MLB..."
i also mentioned in anther thread, according to that same logic mike espoused, never mind practice, just show up 2 minutes before the game starts, loosen up & play!!!.. because according to mike, nothing you can do wil change you in any way... then he wants to tell you the stance has nothing to do with whether or not you hit well... jesus christ!!! what can you say to someone who has that mindset?!?!? just shoot me!
my theory is built on the observations of the events i see.. ALL you guys on this site say i am always wrong, but i never read anything about where specifically my theory contravenes the LAWS OF LOGIC & PHYSICS.. BECAUSE THEY DON'T... all you guys say is "well, ---- does it this way, so it must be right, & all those guys are making
$X millions/yr, & you don't, so bite me" ALL YOU GUYS DO IS NAYSAY & BLA BLA BLA & CALL ME AN IDIOT... in order to rise above the crowd, you must think outside the box.. ask einstein... thruout history the general public has ridiculed radical ideas that turned out to be correct.. like the world not being flat, the earth goes around the sun... copernicus & gallileo both died in prison.. i guess i should be grateful the thought police don't come & lock me up...
ALL HITTER & COACHES SHOULD BUY INTO THIS MINDSET when i talk to a hitter, i don't want to talk about the 26 times he succeeds... i want to talk about the 74 times he fails... & ask him why?? this is where the room for improvement lies... can you shoot a hole in that??!?!? when you start to look for a reason you never catch up to a fb belt high on the inner half, THEN YOU WILL BE HELPING YOURSELF...and improving!! i asked people on this site a survey question, "what is the hitter's primary goal on a day to day basis?"... TO A MAN, EVERYONE SAID "CONSISTENCY"... WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.those people are guaranteed losers.. i say a much better goal specific solution is you should be looking for the weaknesses causing fatal errors, & make changes in order to improve on a day to day basis.. that is what winners do.. shoot a hole in that mindset... yeah i thought not.. any responses to these prior statements will probably include remarks about me & what an idiot i am, but nothing about the specifics of what i have stated.. in debating circles, this is called "blowing smoke", or obfuscating...which is what one does when one cannot answer the question, or has insufficient knowledge to logically refute the point made by his adversary... you guys are all smoke blowers, & nay sayers... you all maintain the status quo is just fine with you, & EVERYONE should continue to spout the party line...
at some point EVERYONE has to look in the mirror & ask "why is what i am doing not getting the job done? what must i do to succeed? what changes must i make to improve?" to have this midset will help you to act accordingly, & help yourelf & your students improve..
or you can just be like everyone else, & get in lockstep, & go thru the motions, & get your paycheck, & go home without making any real impact on anybody or anything... or you can think outside the box..
your choice.. i choose not to be in lockstep because THE THEORIES EMBRACED BY MOST HITTERS & COACHES CONTRAVENE THE LAWS OF LOGIC & PHYSICS ON A DAILY BASIS..in fact most MLB hitters & coaches can't even spell both the words, let alone tell you what they are.... when you think it's ok to drop your hands, do a circle hitch with your hands, & THEN draw your arms & hands back to the launch position, ALL AFTER THE PITCH HAS BEEN RELEASED, & THINK YOU WILL STILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO GET TO THE PITCH IN TIME TO DRIVE IT... THEN THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU!!! after a hitter fouls off that same pitch in the same spot 100 times (& I have in fact seen konerko foul off 100 fb's belt high on the inner half)... when he puts 1 + 1 together & gets 3... how can you talk any sense to someone like that?!?!? it's like speaking swahili to a frenchman.. MLB hitters continually make the same mistake over & over & over... what can you say about idiots who are doomed to repeat their mistakes, never figure out why they make the mistakes, & never change anyting in order to eliminate their mistakes except hope they do better on the next pitch!?!? what they don't understand is the pitcher knows what the hitter can't get to, & when he needs an out pitch, that is what the hitter is going to see... until he figures it out & makes an adjustment... which most hitters never do..
