I have read all the batspeed and swing mechanics articles on this site and I tend to agree with most of the research. However, I would like someone to explain if the exact same batspeed can

I would be willing to bet, as this is the case with most big kids, (especially 13 years old) that the 6 foot 5 kid "pulls" the bat with his upper body and arms. The smaller kid, however, has learned not to really on his strength, but to have good mechanics, and therefore uses his hands to swing the bat. This is why his bat speed is faster.
