My bat angle is also slightly upward, but it isnt an uppercut and I keep hitting the top half of the ball and pouding the ball into the ground? Does anyone have any drills to correct these two problems?

If this is during tee work or soft toss, make sure the ball is being positioned slightly behind where your lead foot is landing. My daughter was having the same problem, and we realized her stride was off and she was landing short, and having to reach for the ball. Hope this helps.

Lady Knights,

I agree that an early roll over of the top hand can cause you to "top" the ball and that reaching for a ball can cause this to happen, but one thing to watch for is if the lead elbow is working up or staying down. If the lead elbow stays down then the likely hood of rolling over early is greater, but if you allow your lead elbow to work up then it will be much harder to roll over to early and it will allow you to stay on plane with the pitch longer.
