Re: Gground balls or Fly balls?

Mike,

I agree with you somewhat. But don't be fooled by some of the home runs hit in BP. The game is sped up and as you know when things speed up the odds that you will miss hit the ball on the underside are greater.

Hitting home runs is great, but BP is easy. I could still probably beat you in a HR derby today and I haven't played in a game since 2002. Preparation for the game is what coaches are for. Trying to hit the ball hard with batspeed is one thing, but placing the focus on the result of a HR instead of focusing on getting a pitch to hit and hitting it hard is another.

I assure you that you have hit more home runs in your life when you were not trying to do so vs. when you were trying to do so. (In games of course).

Hit as many HRs in BP as you can as long as it is because your focus is in the right areas to prepare you for tonights pitcher.

Jimmy
