>>> But to first say that the bottom hand goes around the top hand when this hasn't been proven (and in fact it is the reverse that is true), and then to say that on an outside pitch there is less of this but is made up for by having more of the top hand "accelerating" toward the catcher in swing intiation is taking two unproven premises to prooce a point....(the other unproven premise being that there is "acceleration" of the bat during the phase of moving top hand toward the catcher; while I agree that this is a correct technique, I believe the technique is critical in getting the hands started in a CHP. But there is not necessairily any "acceleration" at this point of the swing, and there certainly is not even greater "acceleration" just because of an outside pitch requiring a wider arc of the CHP. <<<

HI Bart

Pulling the top-hand back toward the catcher (around the bottom-hand) DOES accelerate the bat-head back toward the catcher during pre-launch and at initiation. – Pulling the bottom-hand around the top-hand DOES accelerate the bat-head to contact. – For a given rate of angular displacement, a wider radius of the hand-path DOES generate greater bat speed for outside pitches.

These points are shown in frame-by-frame motion in our instructional video. But since there is no way I can point this out to you on a discussion board, let’s just say that we agree to disagree.
