Jimmy,

Comment on your statement "So you like contact being made beyond the hitters leverage and vision Teacherman?" Hitters don't see contact it happens to fast and once the barrel is headed for the ball the adjustment period is pretty much gone. That's why split finger fastballs are so hard to hit, because of the late break. I think your head is up with your vision focused out at the ball and you try to track with your eyes the path of the ball as far as you can with as little movement as possible. If you move your head down to see contact to much then you will lose the ball when it is out front. I agree that making contact from front knee to front foot is best because this does give you the best oppurtunity to stay focused on the ball longer with as little of head movement as possible.

Example would be feilding a grounder. That's why we field out in front of us and not back between our legs. Fielding in front gives us the best advantage of seeing the ball longer with very little head movement.
