Re: hitting everything to right

I have a player who hits everything. Unfortunately, he hits everything to the right
side, almost always ground balls. He doesn't get his bat in the same plane as the ball
and just chops down at it...does anyone have a tip for a frustrated coach? He is sound
in his set up and he seems to finish properly..thanks in advance.

I would say he's not using the "push/pull" of the hands described in this site. and as
we say in golf, he probably has a "one piece swing" too. As in golf, the bat swing starts
from the ground up...legs,hips,shoulders,arms, hands last and trailing the bat. The
push pull is explained quite well on this site. In short,he needs to turn his body out of
the way on a rotational axis, to get his bat through the zone properly. good luck
