i don't understand when it says to take out all slack so that all corresponding movement results in movement of the hands. HOw do you do that?

Hope I sequence this right, the slack is the bend of the lead arm. As rotation initiates, shrug the lead shoulder and torque top hand back and down. I guess what I feel here is lead shoulder starts up and out and bat is torqued back which effectively stretches the lead arm to almost straight and gets it down close to the chest, creating tight connection between lead shoulder and bottom hand. I hope this makes sense, hopefully some of the real smart people on the board will help me out.
