I like to keep it simple, since I feel hitting a baseball is specific to each player. An expert on hitting, in my opinion, is someone who can take a player and allow that player to actualize his or her potential through the coaching philosophies (both mechanical and mental)that they teach. In other words, an expert on hitting has the knowledge of how to fully and absolutely maximize the potential and preparedness of a player when hitting a baseball. The best players are hardly ever the best coaches. Natural talent can't be taught - it's the players who worked hard to improve themselves that make the best coaches, in my opinion.
