As usual a quack response from a guy who knows nothing. The not-so-good-teacherman strikes again. Please don't listen to this guys advice.

All hitting is both linear and rotational. If the bat starts on one side of your body and finishes on the other, it did not take a straight line to that point. Unless in linear hitting the bat starts on the right out in front of the body, and finishes on the left out in front of the body. for it to be truly linear, there can be no change in the straight line or path of the bat and hands and the bat must stop once it reaches a point past the target.
