I too believe in "squash the bug".

Just look at pictures of the great Joe DiMaggio in full swing.
And he came 35-40 years before anybody every coined the phrase.
(He's sometimes on his toes) which was probably a major reason why he always had foot problems.

Although, as for me, I don't think it is paramount in a swing, but an important catalyst.
